Pierre Droal produces highly evocative fantasy and surrealist paintings. While not all of his images would fall under the ‘horror’ label, there’s a strong focus on the otherness of his subjects, which are situated in exotic, familiar-yet-strange environments.
His images seem to alternate between employing saturated reds and cool blues, depending on the mood that he’s trying to convey; and none of his images are without some element to draw the viewer in.
His website only has a relatively limited number of images on it, so a Google image search is recommended if you’d like to see more of his work.
